OTAGO HUNT CLUB

MEET AT HIGHCLIFF The weekly run of the Otago Hunt Club was held on Saturday at Highcliff over the properties of Messrs J. and D. J. Robertson, G. Landreth, J. Johnson and G. Donaldson. There was a large attendance of members, who met at the kennels and proceeded to Mr J. Robertson's, where the throw-off took place. In the absence of the deputy master (Mr R. C. 13. Greenslade), Mr J. Dick filled that position. Although there were several difficult jumps throughout the hunt all those who followed completed the course, and there were no falls. The first jump was a post and rails, followed by a stone wall and two wire fences, after which the trail led into Mr D. Robertson's property, in which there were several good fences and posts and rails. The last jump brought the followers on to the road, and from here the trail led to Mr G. Landreth's property, in which there were a number of good jumps consisting of post and rails and a stone wall. The trail then led into Mr Donaldson's paddock, where good jumping was witnessed by a large number of spectators who had followed in cars. At the conclusion of the hunt those present proceeded to the residence of the master's parent* (Mr and Mrs R. Bruntou), where they were entertained at afternoon tea. Before proceeding home Mr W. Hastie thanked the property owners and Mr and Mrs Brunton, Mr Brunton briefly replying. Amongst those present were the following:—The master (Mr J. E. Medley on Rod Fire, Miss 11. Munii on Diana. Miss R. M'Kay on Academy. Miss M. Sinaill on Dandy, Miss E. Smyth on Red Heather, Miss V. Taylor on Punch, Messrs V. Campbell on Molly, A. Dickson on Zamboa, f. Dickson on Grand Refrain. R. Harvey on Octane, R. Lanham on Brian Born, W Mnirhead on Kim. I'. Nicolson on Black Traitor. K. Russell on Peter M'GUI, Rohb on Squeak, W.
