POPULAR CONCERT

A popular concert was held last night in the Early Settlers’ Hall, the purpose being to raise funds for Dot’s Little Folk Old Writers’ Association, which will be holding special anniversary celebrations during Winter Show Week. Mr J. T. Ramsay, president of the association, occupied the chair, and there was a large audience, which appreciated thoroughly the varied programme, which was presented under the direction of Mr Alfred Walmsley. The following was the programme:—Duet. Messrs MTvinlay and Finnic; solo. Miss Dorothy Mackay; solo, Mr Ivan Styles; humorous recitation. (Miss Xsobol Clarke: solo, Miss Hannah Dick; solo, Mr W. E. Snow; Maori songs. Miss Jean M'Millan; duct. Messrs M'Kinlay and Finnic; solo. Miss Nell Walker; solo Mr Larry Ford; recitation. Miss Tsobcl Clarke; solo. Miss Ivy Parker: duet, Miss Dick and Mr Snow; solo, Miss Sara Conpor; solo, Mr A. Walmsley; solo, Mr W. A. Finnic. Mrs Walmsley was the accompanist. , At the conclusion of the concert a dance was held.
