CATTLE PRICES EASIER FAT CATTLE . A large yarding of 318 head came forward for tiie sale. There was only three or four trucks of prime quality bullocks m the entry, the bulk of the yarding being made up of medium and light bullocks, with the usual number of cows and heifers. At the commencement of the sale prices for prime quality cattle were on a par with last week, while medium and light were easier to the extent of 10s per head. Towards the close of the auction there was a further casing, and at this stage values for all cattle were easier by 15s per head on last week s values. Quotations were: —Extra prime heavy bullocks, to £1.3 2s 0d; prime, £9 2s 6ci to £lO 12s 6d; medium, £7 17s 6d to £8 12s 6d; light, to £5 17s fid; prime rows and heifers, to £b 17s fid; medium, £4 12s 6d to £5 7s Od: light and unfinished, £2 7s Gd to £3 17a 6d. STORE CATTLE The largest yarding of store cattle seen at Burnside for some time was forward yesterday, 478 head being yarded. A big proportion of the entry were steers, and included in the number was a line from the Lakes district, which sold under keen competition, bringing from £5 4s to £0 2s.
