TROTTING CLUB

FORBURY PARK STEWARDS A meeting of the stewards of the Forbury Park ‘Trotting Club was held last night, and was attended by Messrs B. S. Irwin (president, in the chair), J. M. Samson, H. Archbold, H. Halliday, W. J. L. Goughian, C. IP. Hadfield, D. C. Jolly, T. Fogg, James Mitchell, and A. Clark. It was decided to appoint Messrs Archbold and Halliday to attend a conference, called by the Metropolitan Club for April 13 at Christchurch, to discuss the present system of handicapping and any other matters relating to the sport which may be brought up. It was decided to adopt the programme submitted for the winter meeting. The total stake money will be £3OOO, as against £2BOO for the winter meeting last year. It was agreed to commence the races at 11.45 a.tn. on each day. Messrs Irwin. Archhold, Black, Goughian. and Mitchell were appointed the Judicial Committee for the meeting. It was decided to adopt the same system of betting on the totalisator as obtained at the last meeting. It was decided to make a charge of Is 6d for ladies’ tickets., a motion that they he admitted free being defeated. Accounts amounting to £lB5 11a 6d were passed for payment.
