WAR AGAINST GASES

War gases may lose some of their terror if the claims of a French chemist, who announces the discovery of a chemical preparation that has the property of neutralising their toxic eSect, prove to be justified. An advantage of this antigas agent is the simplicity of its use. The chemical, a pulverised solid, is designed to be sprayed into a room from a hand pump, and is said to counteract noxious vapours present and to aid in reviving persons already affected. In tests, its use is declared to have resuscitated mice that have been poisoned by carbon monoxide. one of_ the several toxic gases against which it is said to be effective.
