LIONS MORE COSTLY
It's an ill-wind . The price of lions exported from Abyssinia has risen ns a result of the Italian invasion. Abyssinia used to export lions on a large scale, but the exports have ceased since the war began, for Emperor Haile Sellassie’s subjects are occupied with other matters. AJale lion cubs, formerly £5 each, now bring £2O. Full-grown animals, which used to cost £BO, now cost twice as much. On the other hand, the application of sanctions against Italy has caused an acute shortage of goldfish in France, France always has imported all her goldfish from Italy. Since the application of sanctions the fish have become hard to buy anywhere in France. French fish dealers have tried to breed their own fish, without much success.
