NOTES FROM AUCKLAND

(Special to Daily Times) AUCKLAND, March 10. Before leaving for Trentham to-day the speedy Rereatu woe responsible for a good six furlongs in Imin 14 4-ssec on the No. 2 grass at Ellerslie. The track was in perfect order, and he carried only about 6.0. However, he went attractively, finishing strongly .after running the first three in 36 3-ssec, and his effort was outstanding. Rereatu was unlucky at the start when he ran unplaced in the Pukekohe Handicap last Saturday, and he is expected to race well in whichever event he starts on Saturday, when he is an acceptor for both the Thompson Handicap and the Railway Handicap.' The jockey H. N. Wiggins has appealed to the Auckland District Committee against the decision of the Judicial Committtee of the Te Aroha Jockey Club in suspending him for three months for interference to Gay Broney shortly after the start of the Herries Memorial Cup on February 29. The appeal will be heard next Friday evening.
