UNITED FIRE BRIGADES

ANNUAL CONFERENCE TO-DAY (Per United Pbess Association) HASTINGS, March 8. Approximately 120 delegates to the annual conference of the United Fire Brigades' Association, which begins here to-morrow morning, arrived yesterday. Last night they were tendered an informal reception by the Hastings brigadesmen, and this morning they attended church parades at the Methodist and Presbyterian Churches. This afternoon they were driven around the district, visiting many places of interestincluding To Mata Peak and the lona and Woodford House Schools. To-morrow they will settle down to serious business, over which Mr H. E Fallas. of Auckland, will preside. The delegates will be tendered a civic reception by the Mayor (Mr G. A. Maddison).
