Hundreds of cicadas, probably attrated by the bright electric lights, invaded the watch-house at Auckland police headquarters in the city early the other morning. The line of trees outside the police buildings in Princes street has harboured thousands of cicadas for some days past, and it is thought that some of them flew across the road into the building when night came. They alighted on the walls and furniture of the watch-house, and quite a task was involved in sweeping them away. •
