"A SPORTING GESTURE"

TO THE EDITOR.

Sir, —The officers and members of the Woolston Band would esteem it a privilege to thank publicly the members of the St. Kilda Band for their sporting geelure at the recent New Plymouth contest. On the Saturday evening, after our success in winning the A' Grade Quickstep, the Dunedin band (last year's champions) serenaded.the Woolston Band at its hotel. It is hard to express adequately our appreciation of the kind thought that prompted this action, but it will remain one of the most pleasant memoriei of a wonderful contest.

Wishing the St. Kilda Band every saccess,—l am, etc., F. J. Tubneb, Secretary. For the Woolston Band.
