CITY POLICE COURT
Thursdat, March 5. (Before Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M.) DRUNKENNESS. Ernest Davis, aged 35 years, a statutory first offender for drunkenness, was fined 10s and costs (10s). TRAFFIC OFFENCE. Robert Maxwell Carroll pleaded guilty to a charge of failing to sound a warning device on his motor car at an intersection.—Senior Sergeant Packer said that the charge arose out of a collision between the defendant and a cyclist who had received injuries which necessitated his admission to the Hospital.—The defendant explained that the incident occurred about midnight and it was because of this that he had not blown his horn at every intersection. —The magistrate imposed a fine of 10s and costs (10s). ALLEGED ROBBERY. John .Tamieson Eraser was charged with drunkenness and with having robbed Albert John Eames of a gold watch and chain and a bunch of keys of a total value of £SB, and at the same time with using violence.—On the ap plication of Chief Detective Young the defendant was remanded for one week. Mr White appeared for Eraser and applied for bail, but this was refused—lt was stated that Eames bad suffered n black eye and arm bruises. The incident had occurred on February CONVERSION OF VEHICLE. Angus Ferguson Gorrie and James Ernest Barron were charged with the conversion of a motor vehicle—Mr White appeared for Gorric—Chief Detective Young stated that the chargewas if connection with charges of theft at Stirling for which the accused had been sentenced in the Supreme Court on Wednesday. All the facts had been taken into consideration when sentence was passed.—The accused were convicted and discharged.
