ANNUAL TOURNAMENT y SINGLES CONCLUDED Taking advantage of the changed conditions of the weather, the executive of the Ladies', Association .seized the opportunity of completing the Singles competition on the 0.L.8.A. green at 'Logan Park. The plajsng area was in surprisingly good condition, after the rains of the previous day. There were nine section winners to do battle in the post-sectional play. Results:. '"',''. . , FIRST ROUND. Miss Hutchison (Logan Park) 22, Mrs Warrington (Caversham) 11. Miss Hutchison- was playing in good style and at the twelfth head had a lead of 11 points, the balance of the game being' evenly fought out. SECOND ROUND. Mrs Haub (Caversham) 23, Miss Hutchison (Logan Park) 6. Mrs Walker (Mornington) 19, Mrs Gregory > (Dunedin) 8. Mrs Faigan (Miller's Flat) 20, Mrs Stubbs (Caversham) 14. Mrs Beveridge (Caversham) 20, Mrs M'Connell (Caversham) 9. There was some very fine bowling in this round, Mrs Walker,playing a splen'did game against her strong opponent. Mrs Haub overshadowed Miss Hutchison, who did not reproduce the form she showed in the previous game. Mrs Faigan fully deserved her win when she showed some of the play which made her so prominent in last year's tourney. ' ,'....?''' Mrs Beveridge*? easy win showed her to be a verjr fine four-bowl player with a of shots. , THIRD ROUND. Mrs Haub' 16, Mrs Walker 15. Mrs Beveridge 23, Mrs Faigan 10. The Haub-Walker game was an even run up to the twelfth head, when the score read 8 all. Mrs Haub then took charge and ran to 16—9 after 17 heads. Mrs Walker was- not to be denied and scored sis points on the last four heads and just missed making a tie of the game.-': :• ■ - : ■■•.:••'.■•■'•■/ ■'■•' ■ ■'" .'■'■• FINAL ROUND. Mrs -Beveridge ' and.-. Mrs, Haub contested the final, both players being members of the Caversham Club, and it is worthy of note that of the nine contestants five of them belonged to the same club'. This game proved to be an excellent one, play in the early stages being equal, and after the completion of the fourteenth head the score card read 10—9 in favour of Mrs Beveridge, who added two more on tne next and Mrs Haub one on the sixteenth. Mrs Beveridge then made a one, two,, and another one on the next three heads, making her 6 np and two ends to go. Mrs Haub scored a single on the twentieth, leaving Mrs Beveridge the winner, 5 up and a head to play. The final game, as well as many of the others played during the afternoon, were greatly enjoyed by a fair circle of spectators. TO-DAY'S PLAY The tournament will be continued with the rinks competition on the following greens:—West Harbour, Kaikorai and 0.L.8.A. (Logan Park). Players who were at St. Kilda green on Tuesday are requested to note that they are now transferred to West Harbour. To-morrow and Friday the post-sec-tional play of the rinks and pairs will be carried on. *
