MR W. G. WOHLMANN, Commissioner of Police, has asked permission to retire after 42 years' public service, of which more than 41 years have been spent as a member of the New Zealand Police Force. Mr Wohlmann has just completed a tour of inspection of the Dominion, and on the Minister's request will not relinquish his duties till the end of March, after a comprehensive report on the Police Force has been presented.
