SPECIAL DEFENCE FUND
# BILL IN DUTCH PARLIAMENT MODERN FORTIFICATIONS THE HAGUE, February 19. (Received Feb. 20, at 0.35 a.m.) The Chamber, by 00 votes to 29, passed a Bill for the creation of a special defence fund of £0,500,000 in view of the increasing European tension. Modern fortifications will be erected along the Rivers Meuse, Rhine and Scheldt, especially near important bridgeheads, and new coastal defences. The air force will also be strengthened.
