DOG COMMITS SUICIDE

A clog jumped into Manchester Ship Canal at Runcorn recently. It was rescued by the captain of the port sanitary launch Hygenia and was placed on the canal bank.

It then jumped back into the canal, turned on its back, and disappeared. Several canal officials watched the dog and considered that it deliberately took its life.
