The erosion of the Brighton sand spit opposite Clifton Bay, Sumner, has suddenly ceased. The deep channel along the spit (says the Star-Sun) has entirely filled up, and an unbroken beach has been formed in the direction of Redcliffs which, at low tide, extends halfway to the Yacht Club’s jetty. Meantime, all hopes of the water again reaching the Sumner pier seem to be shat tered.'
