WITNESS CHRISTMAS ANNUAL

CONGRATULATORY REFERENCES Mr H. P. West, secretary of the Dunedin Chamber of Commerce, forwarded copies of the Christmas Annual of the Otago Daily Times and Witness Company to various parts of _ the world, and he is now receiving replies thanking him for his courtesy. Mr T. R. Toovey, M.8.E., principal assistant to the general manager of the Port of London Authority (Sir David J. Owen), writes as follows:—"Dear Mr West, I am extremely obliged to you for sending me a copy of the Christmas number of the Otago Daily Times and Witness Company. The pictures in the publication are delightfully reproduced, and I must' say that those of Milford Sound make my mouth water for the opportunity of visiting that district. I always regret that time prevented me from getting as far as that quarter of your beautiful island, although I saw some of its glories at the hostel at Mount Cook one memorable week-end."

Mr A. de V. Leigh, M.8.E., M.A., secretary of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce of the British Empire, writes: —"The manv fine illustrations are naturally of particular interest to the federation in view of the congress which is to meet in New Zealand next October." Mr R. H. Jones, general manager of the Port of Bristol Authority, also extends his thanks to Mr West for the annual, which, he states, he will read with interest.
