ROME SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS
SPAIN AND GREECE HOSPITALITY OFFERED (Feom Our Own Correspondent) (By Air Mail) LONDON, January 25. Many people doubtless are wondering what is the position regarding the British School at Rome in this difficult period. 4s the art critic of The Times remarks: Apart from economic difficulties, in present conditions there was bound to be some restriction upon outdoor sketching —just as there was in England during the Great War—a matter of some concern to students in a place like Rome. He announces that through the good offices of the Spanish Ambassador in London and with the willing consent of his Government the scholars in painting and engraving have migrated to Spain, where they have been warmly welcomed and given every facility to continue their studies. Scholars in sculpture enjoy the hospitality of the British School at Athens.
