FORESTERS
At the fortnightly meeting of Court Woodlands Pride the chief ranger, Sis M. Robertson, presided over a good attendance of members. The woodwards reported on their visits made to the sick members during the fortnight, and the report submitted by the secretary indicated that the sick pay claims were exceedingly light and that the health of the members generally was good. An invitation from Court Excelsior was received and accepted for the fifty-ninth anniversary of that court on February 25. The senior woodward. Sis. M. Marshall, resigned her position in the court. The chief ranger also resigned as court delegate to the annual district conference at luvereargill during Easter week. It was decided to accept the resignations with regret and deal with the vacancies at the next meeting of the court. The district executive, represented by the District Chief Ranger, Bro. J. Olseu; the district secretary, Bro. J. K. Macfie, and the district beadle, attended the court for the purpose of presenting to a son of Sis. M'Coy the James Maclie Memorial Scholarship prize. The district chief ranger made the presentation, and expressed the pleasure it gave him to bs present for the purpose of bestowing such an honour on the court. He warmly congratulated Master M'Coy on winning such a valuable prize, and hoped that his scholastic career would be a successful and distinguished one. He felt sure that the book s contained in the prize would be of great assistance in the course of his studies. Master M'Coy returned thanks. The nomination of two candidates wa* received and accepted.
