WAGE “CUTS” RESTORED RECOGNITION FOR MERCANTILE MARINE LONDON, February 15. (Received Feb. 16, at 8 p.m.) The National Maritime Board has announced that navigating and engineer officers of the mercantile marine will have their wages increased by 74 per cent, as from March 21, “ not on economic grounds but in recognition of their loyalty to the shipping industry,” since the 1032 pay, which is now restored.
