LAUNCH BREAKS DOWN

THE DONALD SUTHERLAND PICKED UP BY TITOKI (Per United Press Association) NELSON, February 15. The launch Donald Sutherland, which left Auckland on Sunday night for Milford Sound, broke down off Farewell Spit yesterday at 1.15 p.ra. The launch communicated with Auckland by wireless, which in turn got in touch with Wellington, which wirelessed the Titoki, then in the vicinity. The Titoki was unable to locate the launch. Wireless was again used through the channels indicated, owing to the Titoki not knowing or finding the launch’s wavelength. Later Auckland advised Wellington that the masthead light of the Titoki had just come into view. The launch was picked up at 3 a.m. and towed to Nelson, where repairs are being effected.
