THE WORLD’S PROBLEMS

TO THE EDITOR

Sir, —It is difficult for a non-Romanist to agree with Archbishop O’Shea that the Catholic Church—it is presumed he means the Roman Catholic Church—is the only body which claims to teach with a divine mandate, and which has a definite system of doctrine, and that that church alone has the remedy for the world’s problems. If the Catholics have the panacea for the present chaos in the world, why have they not already broadcast the prescription? Surely the whole earth has been anxious at heart to get out of its difficulties for the past seven years. But it appears that neither the Roman Church, nor any other church, can get the world out of its present state, for it is the outcome of the economic system of Babylon that has been in the ascendant through _ the ages,. with the modernised w'orship of Baal and the Golden Calf, rather than the true worship of God, and the adoption of His economic system, so clearly expressed in the Bible. Only the Almighty can overthrow this false worship of the prince of this world, and the whole Bible is emphatic and clear that this is so. —I am, etc.. G. Steep.
