CROQUET
OTAGO ASSOCIATION’S TOURNEY
The Otago Croquet Association’s annual tournament will be commenced tomorrow morning, when seven games will bo played on the Logan Park lawns, which have been greatly improved by the recent rain. The Mayor (the Rev. E. T. Cox) will open the tournament at 9.30 a.m. Competitors from Invercargill, Gore, Balcluthft, Clyde, Cromwell, Alexandra, Christchurch, and Timaru will take part, and the tournament promises to he very successful. The A Grade Handicap Doubles will be played on the Logan Park lawns and the B Grade Handicap Doubles on the Watea lawns, commencing at 9.30 a.m. The draw is as follows: —
A Grade Handicap . Doubles. —Mesdames M'Creath and Robertson v. Mesdames J. M'Donald and Lawn, Mesdames Buist and George v. Miss Perrin .and Mrs Buckland, Mesdames Quinn and M'Lennan v. Mrs Halliday and Miss Mee, Mesdames O’Donnell and Gibson v. Mesdames Corbet and Wilson, Mesdames Rigby and Allen v. Mesdames Christopher and J. Robertson, Mesdames Horn and Moodie v. Mesdames Torrance and Moloney, Mesdames Metcalfe and Cornish v. Mesdames Lattimer and Beck, Mesdaraes M'Leod and Pettigrew v. J. Tannock and Mrs Millin.
B Grade Handicap Doubles. —Mesdames Ruff and M'Grath v. Mesdames James and Knox, Mesdames Kettle and Stockdale v. Mesdames Davys and Gray, Mesdames A. W. Macdonald and Haig v. Mesdames Twose and Renton, Mesdames Newall and Henry v. Mesdames Powley and Jelley. The New Zealand Council’s buttons will also be played for when the lawns are available.
