\ light north-easterly breeze and fine weather prevailed on Saturday. The sky was overcast in the morning, but the afternoon was notable for brilliant sunshine. The maximum temperature was 69 degrees. The weather in Dunedin yesterday was calm and inclined to be sultry, there being a very light north-easterly breeze, which increased slightly in velocity during the afternoon. The maximum temperature was 64 degrees, and the barometer had a rising tendency. REPORTS FROM THE NORTH. C Special to Dailt Times) AUCKLAND, January 26. Fine sunny weather prevailed in Auckland during the week-end. There was A light northerly wind yesterday, and the conditions were warm. The temperature at mid-day was 75 degrees. There_ was a thunderstorm with heavy rain during the evening, but the sky was clear again by midnight. There was a fresh southerly wind to-day, with bright sunshine and a generally cooler atmosphere. The barometer has been steady at 29.75 inches during the past two days. WELLINGTON, January 26 The weather was fine and hot over the •week-end in Wellington. A light southerly blew on Saturday, changing in the night to a light northerly, which continued throughout Sunday. The maximum temperature on Saturday was 70 degrees, and to-day it was 75 degrees. CHRISTCHURCH, January 26.
The weather was fine and sunny ia Christchurch over the week-end. A fresh breeze blew from the north-east yesterday and from the south-east to-day. The barometer showed little movement, and registered 29.90 inches at 5 p.m.
