THE SUMMER MEETING SILVER RING PRINCIPAL WINNER METROPOLITAN TO SILVER STREAK (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, January 24. The .Wellington Racing Club's 6iimmer meeting was continued at Trentham today in fine weather, and there was a good attendance. The track was fast. The totalisator handled £27,987, compared with £26,166 10s on the second day last year —an increase of £IB2O 10s. When they settled down Silk Sox made the running, with Gay Broney from Spiral, Hunting Cat, Sweet Agnes, Grand J UI 'V. Silver Ring,' and Argentic. The field closed up entering the straight, where Gay Broney had charge, but was challenged by Spiral, Sweet Agnes, Grand Jury, and Hunting Cat, with Might moving up fast from the back over the last furlong. ' Silver Ring unwound a paralysing run to win decisively from Hunting Cat, with Might, Spiral, and a big bunch close up. NURSERY HANDICAP, Of 200sovs. Six furlongs.

Custos, with Karl, led Gay Chief, Cricket, and Impersonator to the straight, where Custos took charge and won fairly comfortably, the other leaders staging a very close finish for second.
