MAYOR'S RELIEF ORGANISATION

Beach Picnic. —As Tuesday next is the day of the funeral of his late Majesty King George V, no picnic will be held. Tomahawk Residents. —Wednesday next is the day appointed for the Children's Beach Day, at St. Clair. A corporation bus will leave the Glencairn Hall at 9.30 a.m., and leave St. Clair on the return trip at 4.30 p.m. One parent from each family will be allowed to travel with the children. Tliose who have not already received their tickets can obtain them from Mr Collins. On arrival at St. Clair children are asked to obtain their "beach " tickets from Mis M'Arthur in the tent at the side of the bathing pavilion.

Nestle and Anglo-Swiss Milk Company, Best Cafe, Miss Jimsie Fraser, Mr Len Williams, Rata Stores, T. and P. Dairy, Banquet Tea Company, Young and Anderson, Seoular and Co., Arthur Barnett's. A. J. Eames, A. and W. M'Carthy, Bartons, Forte, Roche and Co., Co-opera-tive Fruit Company, and Reilly's Fruit Mart, together with all other business people who assisted in other ways in providing enjoyment to the 250 children and the unemployed men and women who attended. It is also desired to thank the Piping and Dancing Association of New Zealand and the St. Andrew's Society of Otago for the programme that was staged by them to entertain the unemployed on that evening.
