THE YEARLING SALES
(Peb United Press; Assocution)-, WELLINGTON, January 24V The yearling sales were continued at Trentham this morning. Good prices continued and quite a number of Sydney purchases figures in the list. * G. N. Magill gave 800 guineas for a bay filly, by Night Raid from Quadrilaterial, sold on account of the Elderslie stud. Other Night Raid sales were a chestnut colt from Lady Violet, 550 guineas, paid by Mr G. J. Barton, Dunedin;, a brown filly from Par Money, 458 guineas, Mr R. Gregor, Hawke's Bay* a bay filly from Dresden China, 300 guineas, by Wright, Stephenson as agents; also a bay filly from Endorse, 275 guineas. An Iliad —Sweet Charity chestnut colt was. sold on behalf of the Elderslie stud to Dalgety and Co., as agents at 300 guineas. Mr J. T. Jamieson, Sydney,;as agent, secured a bay colt, Lord Warden from Full Swing for 250 guineas, sold on account of Mr G. A. Kain, Orari. Mr Jamieson, as agehtj gave 800 guineas for the chestnut colt Chief Ruler—-Prestige, sold on account of Mr John Donald, Wanganui. A bay colt from Helen went to Sir James Murdock, Sydney, at 525 guineas; a chestnut colt from Very Hot to Mr H. T. Lucerne, Newcastle, at 750 guineas, and a chestnut filly from Mr C, Swinghammer, New South Wales, at 350 guineas. Other Chief Rulter sales were a chestnut filly from Jenolan, 425 guieans, to Mr Shannon, Wellington, as agent. "\ A bay colt by Siegfried from Vigilance, sold on behalf of Mr C. H. Slater, Hastings, was taken by Mr Jamieson, as agent, at 210 guineas. Mr G. Price, Sydney, secured a chestnut colt, Pink Coat —-The Geisha, at 500 guineas, sold on behalf of Mr Donald Grant, Timaru, and Mr G. J. Barton gave 550 guineas for a bay colt, Pink Coat — Victory Bond, sold on account of M'Kenzie Bros., Timaru. Prices realised by Mr T. H. Lowry, Hastings, included 400 guineas paid by Ingliis and Son, Sydney, as agents, for a bay filly, Posterity—Courtesy, 650 guineas for a bay colt, Gascony— Auratum, by Mr E. J. Watt, Sydney. Mr S. R. Austin, Foxton, gave 250 guineas for a bay colt, Hunting Song— Lady Wankolin, sold on behalf of Mr A. E. Preston, Ohau, and Dalgety and Co., as agents, 220 guineas for a bay colt, Lackham— Limoka, sold on behalf of Mr T. Hide, Seadown. Mr W. M'K. Duncan gave 350 guineas for a chestnut filly, Ifiad—Black Cat, sold on account of the estate of the late Mr R. M. Greenslade. ■ ' Mr S. J. Reid, Wellington, gave 200 guineas for a bay colt, Lackham — Cleasanta. sold on account of Mr S. J. Bailey, Ashhurst, and 210 guineas wa» given by Inglis and Son, Sydney, as agents for h brown filly, Posterity—Lady Cavendish.
