The batsmen were more accustomed to local conditions. Dunning gave a forceful display, but Walter scored slowly and was lucky. Turago, a native express bowler, was unsuccessful. Cakohau was the best, taking four for 48., Moorhouse took two for 54. . , Fiji replied with 65 for six wickets (Massey- five for 25).
