RIFLE SHOOTING

KIWI DEFENCE CLUB. The Kiwi Defence Rifle Club fired the •econd shoot of the No. 4 match on Saturday in fine, weather. A variable northerly wind was very troublesome to most members, especially over the longer range. The conditions were seven shots and two optional sighters at 300, 500, and 600 yards ranges. Rifleman S. C. Wells wag the highest scorer off the rifle, with a creditable 96, and was followed by H. Whitehead (95). The best at 300 yards ivere Deputy President Clayton, Riflemen Aitken>and S. C. Wells (each 33), in that order. At 500 yards Riflemen Henshelwood and H. Stinson each scored 33, Henehelwood taking pride of place. S. C. Wells obtained 32 at 600 yards.- Following are the scores and handicaps:—
