ATTEMPT ON STRONGROOM

GELIGNITE INEFFECTUALLY USED (Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND, .January 10. Gelignite was used in an unsuccessful attempt to force open the door of the strongroom at the Northcote Borough Council office last night. The lock was broken and there was other damage, but the door remained closed. So far as is known nothing was taken. An entrance was gained by forcing a window of the council meeting room.
