SEARCH PLANE CRASHES COMPLETELY WRECKED (United Press Association) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) ATLANTA (Georgia), December 9. A plane which was being flown by Russell Thaw for the Ellsworth search crashed at the local airport to-day and was completely wrecked. The pilot and the mechanic escaped uninjured. Thaw said: " The motor cut out about 50 feet up. Probably it was a plugged petrol line. We landed in a ditch." The flyer and his aide departed for New York. They were unable to say what further steps would be taken in the Ellsworth search.
