RACING IN AUSTRALIA A NEW ZEALANDER'S COMMENT. (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, December 10. The opinion that racing is on a very high plane at present in Australia is voiced by the trainer H. B. Lorigan, who returned to the Dominion yesterday, after having been three years and a-half in Sydney. The class is extra good, even at provincial meetings, Mr Lorigan said, and a horse has to be really fit and well, besides having ability above the average of past years, to succeed. He gave this as the reason why so many Dominion horses had failed in the last year or two in Australia. Unless possessing horses of top class, owners should be very cautious about undertaking expensive trips to Sydney at present. . Mr Lorigan brought back with him two horfses, Geitch and an unnamed Tippler, whom he will race in New Zealand. He has resumed possession of his old stable at Trentham.
