SALE OF WORK

ST. ANDREW STREET CHURCH The Ladies' Guild of the St. Andrew. Street Church of Christ held its annual sale of work yesterday in the Church Hall. The goods were attractively displayed on the various stalls and found ready purchasers throughout the afternoon and also in that part of the evening which was not deyoted to entertainment. The sale was opened by Pastor W. D. More, who congratulated the members of the guild on the excellent effort they had made oh behalf of the church finances and expressed the hope that the patronage woukj be in proportion to the work involved in the organisation. In the evening an entertainment, organised by Mesdames W. H. Mackenzie and L. Dunlop, was presented. This took the form of a short play entitled "Weaver of Dreams," in which Misses K. Sinclair, E. Thomas, L. Mackenzie, B. Moore, J. Francis, A. Schulenburg and Mrs L. Dunlop took part. Vocal items were also contributed by Misses Ruth D. Sell, N. Wilson, Mrs A. Chisholm and Mr W. H. Mackenzie. The stallholders were as follows: — Plain goods—Mesdames A. D. Scott, W. Evans and E. Dunlop; fancy goods — Mesdames W. H. Mackenzie, R. Dunlop and E. Foord; cakes, Mrs R. Stokes and Miss E. Stokes; sweets, Mesdames R. Ferguson and R. Wells; produce, Mesdames W. D. More and R. Hamilton; Christmas tree, Miss K. Sinclair and Mrs Pattillo; afternoon tea —Mesdames Campbell, Glengarry and Misses L. Mackenzie and B. More.
