BRITAIN'S TRADE

THE RETURNS FOR OCTOBER LONDON, November 14. The Board of Trade returns for October show that the imports amounted to £73,382,000, the exports to £39,864,000, and the re-exports to £4,732,000. The principal increases compared with October last year were:—lmports: Grain and flour £679,000, dairy produce £1,603,000, fresh fruit and vegetables £542,000, other food £928,000, cotton £865,000, wool £566,000, seeds, nuts, oils, etc., £974,000, hides and skins £252,000, non-ferrous metals and manufactures £474,000. Exports: Beverages and cocoa preparations £420,000, wool £245,000, machinery £458,000, woollen worsted yarns and manufactures £337,000. The principal decreases were: £962,000, wood and timber £326,000, rubber £1,132,000. Exports: Coal, £256,000.
