AVIATOR’S LIBEL ACTION
SETTLEMENT ANNOUNCED LONDON, November 6. After the race to Australia, Cathcart Jones wrote a book which his co-pilot, Waller, considered reflected on his courage and capacity as a pilot, and brought a libel action against him. A settlement was announced by the King’s Bench Division, Waller’s counsel explaining that he was satisfied that Jones had no intention of casting any reflection on Waller, and was unreservedly withdrawing it if anyone viewed the passage as Waller had done. They remained the best of friends.
