BALCLUTHA ! . Coursing Club The adjourned annual meeting of cue South Otago Coursing Club was held on Wednesday night in Gold’s card rooms, when there was a very fair attendance of members. Mr G. Sinclair (Paretai) was in the chair. The balance sheet showed that the club had a credit of £25 17s Id at the close of its financial vear. The chairman explained that lust season only three meetings had been held. In the coming season it was hoped to have the new plumpton at Balclutha in good shape, and there would be a greater frequency of meetings, and, most likely, larger attendances of the public. After the adoption of the report and balance sheet the following office-bearers were elected: —President, Mr S. V. White; vice-presidents, Messrs G. Guest, D. Sinclair, C. O’Hara, John Gold, D. M. Henderson, James Gold, W. B, Duff, W. Twaddle: secretary, Mr 8. Latta; treasurer, Mr M. J. Low; auditor, Mr A. Dawson; committee, Messrs D. Sinclair, F. Mitchell, P. Jardine, J. Lockhart, G. Duncan (Stirling). F. Thomson (Kaitangata), Mackie (Kaitangata), W. Ea wards. J. Stenning, A. M'Diarmid, H. Kirldapd.

Mrs John Gold was appointed the first life member of the club, reference being made to the work she bad done in Connection with the club’s social activities. The president, Messrs D. Sinclair and M. Low were deputed to obtain quotations for the net-wire fence to enclose the new ground situated on the lower reserve, and were given power to act. Messrs F. Mitchell and M. Low were appointed to supervise the levelling of the ground, the work having been commenced this week. In addressing the club members, the new president said he thought the prospects of the club were now better than they had ever been. They aimed to make the new ground one that would be appreciated by "the general public and dogowners alike, and its handiness should prove to be of great advantage to all concerned. In the past the club had drawn its chief support from Balclutha. Kaitangata, and Stirling, and if all would work together he was sure they could make the new plumpton worthy of South Otago in every respect. Alter the formal business was disposed of, a social hour was spent.
