(Received Nov. 5, at 5;5 p.m.) The London Passenger Transport Board, which is the direct owner and operator of London's tube railways, omnibuses, and tramways, and is identified with the. subufban' trafic of the four main railway groups by pooling arrange-ments,-reports" that in-the year ended June 30 the number of passengers dealt with within the pooling scheme totalled 4,129,000,000, representing travel at the rate of 435 journeys per annum per head of population served, which is estimated at 9,500,000 persons. In the previous year the number of journeys per head was 417. Of the 3,582,000,000 carried on the Transport Board's own system 59 per cent, travelled by omnibus and coach, 28 per cent, on tramcars, 12 per cent, on railways, and 1 per cent, by trolley bus. Pooled passenger receipts for the year totalled £39,718,000, and the board's own share was £28,823,000.
