ORDEAL IN BUSH
INJURED MAN’S PLIGHT PLUCKY CRAWL FOR HELP. While Jtunes Bunston, aged 78, of Gormandale, Victoria, was clioi>i)ing a sapling in dense bush near Traralgon recently the sapling fell and struck him on an ankle, severely injuring it. Bunston called for help till nightfall, and then he lit a fire, and, without a coat, sat through the night. Throughout the second' day he continued to call for help. None came, and, when night again set in, he dozed from exhaustion. When day dawned again he decided to crawl to the Gormandale road, about two miles away. Bunston reached the roadway, and Mrs J. Evans, whose farm is near by, heard his cries. He was taken into Traralgon by a motorist, and was admitted to hospital. He had been without food or water for more than two days, and was in a state of collapse.
