Jackson and Jean Lang left Port Chalmers yesterday morning for Wellington to attend the annual meeting of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand, . POLICE COURT ’ At a sitting of the Port Chalmers Police Court yesterday morning a first offender was convicted and fined 5s on a charge of drunkenness. Mr W. G. Love was on the Bench. TANKER IN DOCK The Union Company’s tanker Otokia, which has been under overhaul and survey for several weeks, was. docked at Port Chalmers yesterday morning for I cleaning and painting. BOYS’ BRIGADE There was a good attendance ■>: t the Garrison Hall on Saturday, evening to witness a parade of the. local company of the Boys’ Brigade, under the bharge of Captain E. Begbic. Chaplain-captain J. G. Dunn welcomed the visitors. It was pleasing, he said, to see so many parents present, and also the Mayor and Mayoress (Mr and Mrs T. Scollay).' The boys carried out several movements, and Colonel J. M'Pherson complimented the boys on their smartness and efficiency. He said such training was undoubtedly beneficial to boys, and he commended the Presbyterian Church on initiating the Boys’ Brigade movement.
