BELLEKNOWES CLUB Under ideal conditions Mixed Canadian Foursomes were played by the Belleknowes Club on Saturday afternoon, a large field taking part. The winning pair was A. Lucas and Miss R. Given, who combined well to return the score of 72—20 —52. K. Hood and Miss Hustings being next with 74 —20—54. Other good scores were as follows: — Gross. Hep. Net.
ST. CLAIR CLUB There was a good field in the St. Clair Club’s Stroke Handicap which was played in the form of a flag match. In the senior event W. V. Fountain (9) was the winner, the flag being placed in the hole on the nineteenth green, 0. Rhodes (7) and G. Burnett (12) followed closely for second and third places. Among the juniors, who commenced play at the eleventh tee, there was n close finish between E. H. M’Arthur (15) and L. T. Coats (15). Both players reached the twentieth tee with a stroke in hand and a good drive down the centre of the fairway gave Coats the win by a few feet. OTAGO CLUB The first qualifying round of the Otago Golf Club championship was played on the Balmacewen links on Saturday afternoon.
