MODEL YACHTING
The Tomahawk Boating Club held its opening regatta on Labour Day. There was a large attendance of model yacht enthusiasts, and with a splendid fullsail breeze the various models presented a fine spectacle. The thanks of the club arc due to the handicapper (Mr A. Brown) and t,o the judge (Mr T. Hall) for carrying out their duties so efficiently. The results of the inodel racing were as follows: — Length 3 feet 0 inches and under, any design. Seven starters —Purity Ada (J. R. Kerr) 1, Rowdy (J. Thomson) 2, Wings (A. Reeves) 3. Length £ feet, restricted class—Bubbles (J. R. Kerr) 1, Rival (A. Reeves) 2, Raeona (A. Biggs) 3. ■ Open Class, any design—Welcome (C. Hewitt) 1, June (A. Reeves) 2, Raeona (A. Biggs) 3. Open Class —Doris (J. Rapson) 1, Welcome (S; Hewitt) 2, Raeona (A. Biggs) 8. Fifth Race—Raeona (A. Biggs) 1, Tui (L. Biggs) 2, Vagabond (J. Thomson) 3. June and Welcome were disqualified. Sixth Race —June (A. Reeves) 1, Welcome (C. Hewitt) 2, Plank (G. Pistor) 3. Big Yachts, 12 feet 0 inches and over —Bunyip (J. J. Mack) 1, Kathleen (S. C. Kenna) 2, Swastika (B. Winefield) 3.
