By Sentxnel.
Forbury Park Nominations for the Forbury Park spring meeting are due to November 6. Futurity Stakes First forfeits for the Ashburton Futurity Stakes are due on October 31 at 5 p.m. Kingcraft > Until he scored at Oamaru. Kingcraft had not won a race since the Grand National meeting of 1932. In Winning Vein Big Author won twice last season out of three starts, and so far this year has scored three wins out of four starts. A Select Field A small but select field of six remains in the New Zealand Cup Trial Handicap. The field includes the Australian pacer Emilius Way. The Trotting Cup Indianapolis has firmed considerably in his position as favourite for the New Zealand Trotting Cup, and War Buoy is next in demand. A Smart Clip Indianapolis was tuned to go 2min 33 3-ssee from post to post in the Weston Handicap. This is knocking around a 2min 3sec clip, and shows that the crack son of Wrack is just about on the peak of racing shape to eclipse his previous records. A Success The Forbury Park system of betting proved a success at the Oamaru Trotting Club's meeting, and although it calls for extra work from the totalisator staff, the investments were balanced with commendable promptitude. Blue Mountain Blue Mountain, who ran second to Indianapolis in the New Zealand Trotting Cup, is reported to be in great order at present. Last year Indianapolis gave Blue Mountain 12yds, and this year the latter is in receipt of 36yds.
