ODDFELLOWSHIP
During the week the Linden Lodge celebrated its diamond jubilee with two happy gatherings. Bro. L. Stokes, N.G., presided at both functions. At the main function the Grand Lodge of New Zealand, 1.0.0. F., the South Otago District Quale and llebekah), and city and suburban lodges were represented, and the various speakers for the respective organisations extended hearty congratulations to the Linden Lodge on attaining such a notable anniversary. In a short history of the lodge, outlined by the presiding officer, it was stated that of the 2(5 brothers enrolled at the inaugural meeting in the drill shed, Kaikorai, on October 11. 1875, only one or two survive. Special greetings wore conveyed to Bro. J. Broadley, Kaiapoi, the oldest surviving member, and to Bro. J. Jones, of Palmerston, both of whom were unable to be present. The names of many notable workers in Oddfellowship were associated with the Linden Lodge, and, at the request of the chairman, a silent vote of respect was passed to the officers and brethren called to higher service. Bro. R. E. Sligo, grand secretary, 1.0.0. F.. traced the outstanding services given to the lodge and Order by the late Bro. The speaker paid a sincere tribute tp the wonderful work accomplished by the pioneers of the Order. At the final celebration in the Linden lodgeroorn. ronrosentatives of Warcpa Lodge were welcomed.
