MOTOR TRIALS

LABOUR DAY FIXTURE GOOD ENTRIES RECEIVED The annual trials for motor ears and motor cycles of the Automobile Association of Otago will be commenced on Saturday and will be held over the same route as last year—Dunedin to Pembroke and return. The entries, totalling nine cars and the same number of motor cycles, are slightly better than last year’s, and it is expected that there will be greater interest than usual in the fixture. The motor cycles will be despatched first from the association’s rooms in Moray place, the first machine leaving at 2.30 p.m. on Saturday. The others will follow at one-minute intervals, the first car being timfed to start at 2.39 and the last at 2.47. From Dunedin, the competitors will proceed to Lawrence, and wdll continue to Pembroke by way of Roxburgh and Cromwell. They will stay at Pembroke on* Sunday and will commence the return trip early on Monday morning. The homeward route will be from Pembroke via Tarras, Cromwell, Clyde, Ranfurly, Middlemareh, Outrara and Green Island. The total mileage will be 392.3. The motor cycle ’ awards consist of the Victory Cup, to be held for one year, and a gold medal; the Wanaka Cup, to be held for one year, and a silver medal; and a silver medal for third place. For the teams’ contest there is the Walker and Hall Cup, to be held for one year, and a silver medal for each member of the winning team. The following are the competitors who have entered: — CYCLES.
