There was a continuation of unsettled weather yesterday, heavy rain falling throughout the day. A light north-east wind was blowing, and the maximum temperature was 49 degrees. CHRISTCHURCH, October 23. The weather to-day was overcast, with steady rain in the afternoon and evening. A light south-west breeze in the morning changed to a moderate north-east wind in the afternoon. The maximum temperature was .54.6. The barometer is falling, and to-night registered 29.77 in.
