THE WEATHER
There was a continuation of unsettled weather yesterday, heavy rain falling throughout the day. A light north-east wind was blowing, and the maximum temperature was 49 degrees. REPORTS FROM THE NORTH. (Special to Daily Times) AUCKLAND, October 23. A strong north-north-east wind and continuous rain were experienced to-day until Tate in the afternoon, when the rain ceased, but the conditions continued overcast and threatening. A falling barometer registered 29.65 in. WELLINGTON,. October 23. The weather was calm, dull and misty to-day, with a light rain falling most of the day. The maximum temperature was 58.7 degrees. CHRISTCHURCH, October 23. The weather to-day was overcast, with steady rain in the afternoon and evening. A light south-west breeze in the morning changed to a moderate north-east wind in the afternoon. The maximum temperature was .54.6. The barometer is falling, and to-night registered 29.77 in.
