Monday, October 21. (Before Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M.) DRUNKENNESS. Leonard Francis Heller, a statutory first offender, was fined 10s, in default 24 hours’ imprisonment. ALLEGED BREAKING AND ENTERING. (Waikouaiti), and stealing goods of an assorted character to the value of £44 Is lid. —Chief Detective Young asked for a remand until Friday. Two men had already been committed for trial in connection with the offence, and the accused had only been arrested the previous day when the police secured the necessary evidence to charge him.— The magistrate granted a remand. Bail was allowed in £25 and one surety of £25 provided he reports daily to the police. MAINTENANCE. Arthur Eedvers Wilkins was charged With disobedience of a maintenance order the arrears of which were £6l 10s. —The defendant was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called upon within 12 months, a condition being that he pays £5 within 14 days, report weekly to the police and supply particulars of his earnings.
