MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING
LADIES’ NATIONAL RESERVE. To conclude the season the Ladies' National Reserve held a number of interesting competitions on the final night, when there was a large attendance of members. The results were as follows: First-year Grouping.—C. Cassels 1, S. Cassels runner-up. Open Grouping.—H. Ogg 1, M. Bird 2. Self-handicap.—Mrs J. Bradley 1, RKnowles 2. Rapid Fire. —Mrs J. Bradley 1. In the Self-handicap Competition Miss M. Bird shot a possible (no reading). D.S.A. CLUB. The following are the results of the various club matches held by the D.S.A. Club during the 1935 season. There has been a keen interest taken in the various fixtures by the club members, and also in the various matches shot during the season. The chief item of interest was the Club Championship, which was won by Rifleman L. Bludgon for the fifth time in succession. This year, however, he w 7 as closely followed by Rifleman E. Cameron and Rifleman A. Andrews, the event being decided by a shoot-off. The Championship points are taken over the season’s match scores, counting out two and counting in a 10-shot target, all shots counting. The results were as follows: —Blagdon 620 plus 94, 714; Cameron, 619, 95, 714; Andrews, 617, 90 —713; Paton, 615, 93—708; Williams, 012, 96 708.
The club is indebted to the president, vice-president, and, Messrs R. W. Dick, R. F. Marshall, and P. Dawson for donations of valuable trophies. The result of the Vice-president’s Handicap was a draw between E. Cameron and E. Ridley, each 79, the competition being won by E. Ridley in a shot for shot final. The President’s Handicap was won by F. Williams with 79. In Mr R. W. Dick’s Handicap Knockout P. Douglas was first with 79 and Miss Adair second with 78. This was n most interesting event, every member having a shoot. Mr P. Dawson’s Trophy Handicap resulted in a draw between Mr Gall and Mr E. Ridley with 77 eacli. The event was won by E. Ridley in a shot for shot final. Mr R, I’. Marshall’s trophy, presented for (he runner-up in the Championship, was won by Mr E. Cameron. The Bull’s-eye Competition for a trophy presented by Mr E. Ridley resulted in a very close finish, the winner being Mr E. Cameron.
