Lancelot Piersc, aged 64, a commercial traveller, of Wanganui, was severely injured and John M'Elroy, aged 13, a son of Mr H. M'Elroy, of Hamilton, suffered a broken leg and shock as the result of a collision between a motor car and a railway engine at Sedclon road crossing at Hamilton last evening. The car .was proceeding north when an engine, travelling slowdy to Hamilton to connect with an excursion train, struck the car broadside on, the vehicle being carried along the line for some distance before being thrown clear. FALL FROM MOTOR CYCLE As a result of falling from his motoi cycle last evening on Saddle Hill, Kenneth Murray, aged 22 years, single, resid ing at 16 Lancefield street, Caversham, was admitted to the Hospital at 9.20 suffering from head injuries and shock. CUT BY BROKEN BOTTLE At 4 o’clock yesterday afternoon Val Watson, aged 10 years, residing with his parents at 343 Kaikorai Valley road, was admitted to the Hospital with injuries to his left leg caused through fall ing on a broken bottle at the High Street School. DEATH OF INFANT The two-months old daughter of Mr and Mrs G. H. Phillips. Carrol! street, died suddenly at about 11 o'clock yesterday morning. The infant had been fed from a bottle at 7 o’clock and again at 10 She was then placed in a basket to sleep. About an hour later the child was found to be dead, and Dr Evans was summoned. It is not certain whether an inquest wilt be held.
