HINTS AND SUGGESTIONS
If at the end of a hard day the eyes are tired, before going to bed smear a little vaseline on the eyelids. Nature will do the rest, and the result will be found most soothing. For a touch of cold or inflammation in the eyes vaseline is also effective, and a very safe cure, too. Ruskin somewhere says cooking means much tasting and no wasting. It means English thoroughness. Scottish tin iH. French art. and Arabian hospitality. It means a scientific knowledge of all the balms, fruits, and spices; in line, that the lady 'or loaf-giver sees that everyone has something good to cat._ You caff remove the stain of potato, onion, or apple form your hands with lemon or vinegar and salt mixed, or piece of pumice stone w.ll do, but should be applied lightly.
