At the executive meeting of the National Unemployed Workers' Movement, Dunedin Central branch, Cr M. Silverstone, president, occupied the chair. Jt was agreed to recommend to the general meeting that the Sunday evening meetings be discontinued in favour of the open-air meetings on Sunday afternoons if the v/eather is favourable. A strong resolution on behalf of unemployed males and females between the ages of 16 and 21 was sent to Cabinet Ministers and the Leader of the Opposition requesting that the Government grant a sustenance of at least 14s per week. The national organiser, Mr M. Ormerod, attended the meeting and gave the executive an outline of his activities during the last two weeks in Otago. It was agreed that the district conference be held on September 21, and the secretary was instructed to get in touch with all unemployed and camp organisations to be represented by delegates. Reports from the Propaganda and Social Committees were considered satisfactory and were received. Try It: A few words in bold type in plenty of space attract attention.
